filmkoop wien presents a photo exhibition as part of @FOTO WIEN Festival, Month of Photography in Vienna, 5th – 20th April 2019
The exhibition shows enlarged film stills from 8mm, 16mm and 35mm analogue films. A new point of view is opened up for the single image torn out of its context – the temporally extended film still. The second part of the exhibition is devoted to analogue photographic techniques. The filmkoop wien experiments with various chemical and technical processes, such as the collodion process, DIY printers or homemade pinhole cameras. Supplementary workshops offer visitors the opportunity to experiment with the techniques themselves. The closing event of the exhibition will be a film screening on 20 April 2019.
