“Very Personal Point of View” – A/IND 2015, HD, 04:15 min., color, stereo
A very personal point of view of a very personal encounter shot with a mobile phone and presented in the triptych format.
After attending a conference in India the filmmaker gets surrounded by a group of very curious Indian women – conference delegates – who try to get a photo with her while constantly asking about her personal life. The film was shot with a mobile phone while not looking through the lens.
The images are presented in a triptych format – a triple montage of the same video. The element of repetition through a slight time delay between the videos creates unplanned choreographies as the depicted subjects move between the image streams. “Very personal point of view” can be regarded as a dance film – not because of the depicted material but because of the way it uses the images itself to create small choreographies.
